A UI Designer should fully understand the " Material Design Language" and all related concepts if they are working on an Android-facing product. We work on web-apps, with " Google Chrome" as our delivery environment. The applicant should have a good working knowledge of web-app design paradigms, and best practices. They don' t need to code, but they should understand how the pieces of their design will be translated into components once it is handed off to the development team.

Candidate will assist the UX Director in building the overall aesthetic and visual design for the DPM product suite.

Deliverables: Creative Briefs Mood Boards Personas Color Palettes Graphic Design Composites (UI Mockups) Control Design (static and interactive states) Type Treatments Design Language Documentation

Produce multiple (3+) concepts per product type based on the " DPM Design Language"

Self-starting, progressive, and a catalyst for change within the UX departmen

t Generate new ideas and ways of approaching business, technical and UX problems

Host " Design Days" (or similar) types or events that showcase the work being done in the UX Department

Recommend new ways to integrate with different lines of business, and new ways of streamlining UX production processes'

Nice to haves: Understand the basics for Equities, IRS, IR Swaps, Bonds, FX and other financial products

Have at least a basic understanding of financial markets and how Capital Markets operate

An understanding of Motion Graphics and Animation


Design Elements and Principles of Design Fundamentals

Design Elements; Color Theory Grid Theory Use of Space Texture Form Principles of Design Unity, Symmetry, Harmony Balance Hierarchy Scale and Proportion Dominance, Emphasis Contrast


Knowledge of Typography and typographic treatments Serif vs Sans Serif, and usage in digital environments How typography is used with Design Principles to create a harmonious UI aesthetic


Iconography rational and treatments Common export formats (.ico, .png, .jpg, .svg) Know and include meaning of symbols, both in a business context and based on modern UI design awareness

Required (high - expert skill level); Adobe Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel

Secondary Tools (medium skill level required at minimum) Sketch Axure Proto.io InVision Visio

Others (nice to have) Atlassian JIRA Confluence MatterMost Adobe After Effects Adobe Captivate
