Billing Hours per Day: 7 (8 hours on-site per day includes 1 hour lunch)
Our client, a very a high-profile Public Sector organization, located in downtown Toronto is seeking a Mobile User Experience Expert to execute various responsibilities towards the development of a mobile application and hybrid mobile application user experience standard that delivers a service oriented and citizen-centric design/experience. Given the nature of this very high profile assignment, it is a compelling resume/profile builder.
The public sector organization is currently implementing its’ enterprise mobile development strategy and a key aspect of their strategy is to ensure that they develop a usability standard that will be used by all teams developing mobile applications in the future. The focus of this standards development is to ensure the focus is based on " service oriented" and " citizen-centric" designs.
The User Experience Specialist/SME will be responsible for identifying the user audiences for hybrid mobile applications; assessing user requirements, needs and satisfaction levels; creating and testing user interface designs, prototypes and specifications across multiple mobile platforms and browsers; ensuring all designs and implementations meet AODA Compliance WCAG 2.0 Level AA; designing and conducting usability tests at various stages of the development process; analyzing the results of these tests and making recommendations to improve the design and functionality; developing and publishing usability guidelines to provide developers with tools in the design process; and creating, promoting and supporting a corporate standard for usability excellence.
From a preliminary perspective, the User Experience Specialist/SME will be involved in the process of analyzing application metrics and user mobile behaviour that will inform the mobile design process, and will assist with the stakeholder and user consultations required to develop, test and refine design concepts for the organization' s mobile application development.
Targeted Experience and Skills:
7+ years of ' progressively more responsible' experience working on web information technology projects that are large-scale or in complex environments, preferably within a public sector context.
A minimum of 5+ years experience working as a User Experience Specialist in a large enterprise environment comparable. Experience in mobile and responsive web development projects for large public service organizations.
3+ years experience working in mobile website and mobile (native and hybrid) development/design projects using enterprise scale API integration.
7+ years experience leading enterprise responsive website and mobile (native and hybrid) development/design projects including content development for mobile screens, mobile design, mobile application construction, navigation and management.
5+ years experience developing and implementing interactive media technologies demonstrating a comprehensive grasp of online media and social media tools and issues
5+ years experience managing formal and informal usability testing, gathering user research and heuristic analysis and translating research into design decisions in support of enterprise mobile projects
5+ years experience demonstrating the ability to participate in, co-ordinate and lead cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams producing innovative responsive web and mobile designs and strategies.
4+ years experience in designing, implementing and testing using AODA WCAG 2.0, Level AA compliance.
Targeted Technical Experience and Skills:
Demonstrated experience developing mobile (native and hybrid) solutions that take into account the capabilities of mobile web browsers and mobile OS’ s across multiple platforms and the constraints involved in designing for media including the need for content to be accessible to a broad and diverse audience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), presentation skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, coaching and mentoring.
Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects, work to overlapping deadlines and prioritize based on impact assessment.
Demonstrated proficiency in user scenario test design and quality assurance scripting and results documentation
5+ years experience using Microsoft Word; Excel, Visio; and Powerpoint.
