We are overhauling our Credit and Counterparty Risk reporting within our Enterprise Reporting project for OTPP.
  • Develop and support reports and in-house applications;
  • Work with business users to refine requirements;
  • Create and / or validate technical design documents;
  • Interface with service architect and other developers and contribute to technical decisions;
  • Interact with project managers / business analysts / team leads for effort estimates;
  • Write high quality Unit tested code;
  • Directly interact with business users to identify / resolve issues;
  • Facilitate UAT and QA testing;
  • Facilitate deployment of changes;
  • Provide technical support for our applications
  • Other duties as may be required.

As the project is both an exciting and strategic business initiative for Scotiabank in 2018 the successful candidate can expect to work within a large cross-functional technical team in an exciting, fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate a willingness and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary to support data center migration activities within permitted change maintenance windows to avoid disruption to the business. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Develop and/or execute methods of procedure or migration plans to move server workloads, network circuits and firewall rules between data centers following overall prescribed project methodology with minimal to no supervision 
• Play an active leading role during “ after hours” (late evening, early morning) change windows in the implementation of moves/adds/changes to network infrastructure including switches, routers and firewalls 
• Use of critical thinking and validation tools to measure overall success of each migration activity 
• Provide first level support post-migration to ensure any problems or risks introduced are effectively addressed or remediated short and long term

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                                                                               

•       Lead and document requirements scoping sessions by employing a number of different techniques depending on audience and size   

•       Able to analyze and anticipate future impacts of requirements

•       Create ‘ AS IS’ and ‘ TO BE’ Work flows to be used to identify automation and operational Efficiency opportunities

•       Apply flexibility and adaptability to project and priority circumstances

•       Work closely with the entire project team to ensure best solution and business outcome

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•       Strong Knowledge of the SDLC and their role in the SDLC

•       5+ years of Business Analysis experience.

•       Superior analytical skills and attention to detail

•       Excellent time management and estimation capabilities and ability to perform several tasks and projects concurrently.

•       Ability to complete Business Specifications, Functional Specification, Workflow Diagrams, Gap Analysis, Business Case, and ROI Analysis documents.

•       Strong knowledge of Visio.

•       Quick learner of new technologies and procedures.

•       Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

•       Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with people at all levels of the organization, and from a variety of disciplines, such as business, developers, QA.

•       Proven leadership and decision-making skills.

•       Self-starter with ability to work independently.

 

In addition to the skills mentioned above, one or more of the following would be an asset:

•       Experience with client-server or Web technologies.
