The Database Administrator’ s role is to design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. 

This individual is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. 

Responsibilities: 

*Plans, coordinates, and supervises complex informatics assignments; designs and applies new methods and procedures. 


*Responsible for physical databases on specific database technologies; design and implement back up, recovery, archiving and conversion strategies. 
Maintains the integrity of databases. 

*Lead or provide subject matter expertise in production and non production databases for data development. 

*Manage database distribution, configuration, security and access requirements. 

*Design and develop physical databases. 

*Lead or perform testing, reporting, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and restores. 

*Provide leadership and technical expertise to on going problem identification and resolution and root cause analysis process for database environments 

SKILLS: DBMS, Data warehousing expertise, Performance tuning and Root cause analysis experience. Previous application and operating systems knowledge. Can perform data warehousing and data modeling functions. Advises and updates management on database concepts and techniques.

Le spé cialiste de livraison Oracle qui rapporte au directeur de livraison de services Intergiciels, DBA, Unix & Middleware, a pour rô le de fournir un large é ventail de services incluant, la recherche, l' installation (incluant le dé ploiement et la gestion de version), la maintenance, la configuration et l' administration de nos bases de donné es. 
Voici le dé tail de ses responsabilité s et les expertises requises: 

1- Effectuer les opé rations de maintenance quotidienne des bases de donné es applicatives. 
Par exemple: gé rer des comptes, corriger les donné es, migrer les applications, bâ tir ou dé sactiver les schemas des donné es applicatives, executer et faire le suivi sur les projets. 

2- Valider les modè les de donné es fournis par l’ architecte fonctionnel et y apporter les recommandations pour s’ assurer la performance optimale lors de la construction des bases de donné es physiques et/ou pour l' ajout et cré ation de nouvelle application. 

3- Analyser les transactions effectué es dans les environnements de tests, fournir et documenter des recommandations aux dé veloppeurs pour optimiser la performance du code SQL. 

4- Pendant les stages de tests de Systè me et d’ Acceptation, ainsi que pour l’ installation en production, exé cuter les scripts SQL tels que demandé s par l’é quipe de projet. 

5- Mettre en place, exé cuter et documenter les processus opé rationnels pour s’ assurer l’ exploitation 24/7 des bases de donné es: les diffé rentes techniques de copie de sé curité (backup/recouvrement), plan de maintenance, suivi de performance, plan de recouvrement en cas de dé sastre (DRP). 

6- Installer le systè me de gestion des bases de donné es, estimer les ressources physiques requises, cré er les sché mas des donné es et gé rer les droits d’ accè s aux donné es. 

7- Il peut ê tre appelé à travailler en dehors des heures normales du bureau pour des travaux de maintenance des systè mes. (peut ê tre sur appel (rarement) soir et fin de semaine) 

8-Faire le suivi sur les manquements au niveau de la sé curité, faire les corrections et produire les é vidences pour les audits. 

9- Il doit savoir gé rer le stress lors des interventions urgentes et impré vues.

<![CDATA[Database Administrator - 4]]> This environment is currently 90% Oracle database and 10% MySQL database. This position is to provide day-to-day database support of this existing environment. There is the opportunity to support migration projects in the near future. 
• Reason for request: Workload

Typical Day in Role 
• Provide on-site database and system support 
• Monitor, collect statistical information, and provide reporting on capacity and system performance 
• Based on statistics, make recommendations to maintain and improve capacity and system performance 
• Monitor the system, and act upon system and application automated alerts 
• Perform diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting of software, o/s, and database issues (ex. correcting installation, configuration, or data problems) 
• Plan and perform software installation, configuration, upgrade and patching 
• Plan and perform database configuration, maintenance, upgrade and patching 
• Perform and manage system and database backups 
• Perform manual switch to redundant system / database components, in case of system failure 
• Rotation of 2 weeks primary support/2 weeks secondary support 

 

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills 
1. Oracle DBA (5+ years experience with database administration support for development and implementation projects) 
2. Oracle 11g and 12c (5+ years experience with creation & upgrade) 
3. Oracle RAC (5+ years experience with setup, configuration, support) 
4. OEM/Grid Control (5+ years for 11g & 12c) 
5. Oracle Dataguard (5+years experience) 

Nice-to-Have: 
- Migration project experience 
- FI/Banking industry experience 
- Any experience with Oracle OLAP, OWB, OEM, Perl, MS-SQL, Sybase, and Oracle Exadata
